Now in its eleventh year, Harp Holiday 2025 will be held in Sydney at the 'Brother. R. J Wallace Performing Arts Centre', Waverley College, from 4-11 January. Here you will participate in ensemble classes and private practice, with other classes on improvising, performance presentation/practice and harp maintenance . Instruments can be left for the duration of your stay whether you come for 1 day or the entire week. Off street parking is provided for all participants.
Your newly acquired skills will culminate in the renowned Harp Holiday 'Heavenly Harps in Concert', giving you a chance to show off. Everyone is encouraged to partake in this incredibly rewarding experience, be you a beginner or accomplished performer. Remember, safety in numbers! How to deal with performance nerves will also be addressed.
During the week you are encouraged to develop your repertoire, improve your technique and learn good practice skills. Teachers are available to guide and assist throughout the week.
You are welcome to explore the extensive harp music library available and be assisted with creating fabulous solo folders for weddings, functions or other events.
Louise and her team, Margaret Curtis, Natalie Wong, Julie Kim and Georgia Lowe, can offer further assistance with sight reading, preparing for auditions, harp exams and concert practice. Also on offer is learning to read from a lead sheet, chord symbols, glissandi skills and improvisation. Just ask!
Those travelling from interstate or overseas may hire a harp, pedal or lever. There are a limited number of these instruments available, please book them early. If bringing your own harp, please ensure it is fully insured as we do not take any responsibility for damage.
